In the first hour of the first day fishing Devils Lake, Blythe made sure to make it a memory with a 26-inch beauty! She came trolling crawler harnesses in about 12 feet of water near a small island. A few days later we found a couple more at 24 and 25 inches with jigging raps and also witnessed some poor sap lose what I'm guessing was AT LEAST a 28 inch walleye due to five swings and misses with the net by his first mate. I think I puked in my mouth a little.
Limits were easy to find any day crawler harnesses, and jigging deep water rocks and humps gave you a pretty good shot at a hog.
Of course, not all the fish could be keepers. One bit off a little more than he could chew...
