We were hoping to get on a great fall bite at Devils Lake, but after an early snow blasting, night temperatures in the teens, and some poor water clarity, things got tough. We still managed to find a few for the camera and the frying pan, though. You could catch plenty of fish jigging in current near the bridges, but most were small. We did catch a couple early jumbo perch, though. We found a few bigger walleye trolling crankbaits, but it was a grind to be sure.
