Did a little scouting trip this afternoon to this reservoir by Leon in Southern Iowa. There's a good amount of structure including rock reefs, humps, and lots of timber. There is also quite a bit of depth, especially down by the dam. Things were slow today, again I think because of both the cold, cloudy weather and the really poor water clarity (also possibly my lack of knowledge of the lake, though the bait shop also characterized the walleye bite as "really slow"). I do think there is potential here and worth coming back to.
I did finally get two quick walleye hits at about 4:30 PM on some rock reefs with spinners and crawlers, but then a squall headed my way, and I decided I'd rather be on shore.
